The Valladolid award came right after the FEDEORA Award in Venice and the Special Mention in Warsaw, and the jury explanation said: \u201c<em>Quit Staring at My Plate<\/em> is a brave and courageous film that never takes the easy narrative road, but rather leans on a firm hand and stable pace to reveal the unpleasant truth about its characters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Croatian audience will have a chance to see the local premiere of <strong><em>Quit Staring at My Plate<\/em><\/strong> in 15 November at the 14<sup>th<\/sup> ZFF, after which the film will be released across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Best Short Film Award<\/strong> in Valladolid went to the fiction film <strong><em>Half a Man<\/em><\/strong> by Kristina Kumri\u0107, a result of a collaboration between the Croatian Audiovisual Centre and the Ministry of Veterans and their joint open call <em>A Picture from the Homeland War<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Half a Man <\/em><\/strong>is based on a short story <em>Return<\/em> by Maja Hrgovi\u0107 and her personal experiences: in autumn 1991, in Dalmatian hinterland, two girls are expecting the return of their father, who spent the last few months imprisoned in a war camp. <strong><em>Half a Man<\/em><\/strong> had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Croatian premiere is scheduled for 16 November, at the 14<sup>th<\/sup> ZFF, in the Checkers section.<\/p>\n","featured":false,"attachment":false,"images":false,"gallery":{"images":false}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3846"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3846"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3846\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/3571"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3846"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3846"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/2024.zff.hr\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3846"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
