Ten intriguing films from around the world are competing in the international short film program of the 21st ZFF.<\/p>\n
This year we have a new film by Daniel Soares<\/strong>, a Portuguese director who received the Jury\u2019s Special Mention last year for What Remains<\/em>. Please Make It Work<\/em><\/strong><\/a> was shown at Locarno and the International Short Film Festival in Clermont-Ferrand. Scorched Earth<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Markela Kontaratou<\/strong> and the Chinese A Tortoise\u2019s Year of Fate<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Yi Xiong<\/strong> also premiered in Locarno.<\/p>\n A few films from this year\u2019s competition were shown at programs of prestigious world festivals. The Norwegian Tits<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Eiving Landsvik<\/strong> and the Spanish-Argentinian None of That<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Francisco Canton and Patricio Martinez<\/strong> were shown in the Cannes\u2019 competition program, while the German Sentimental Stories<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Xandra Popescu<\/strong> was shown in the Horizons program of the Venice Film Festival.<\/p>\n Observation<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Christoffer Lossius<\/strong>, awarded with the Norwegian Amanda award for the best short film, is a story about a married couple who are informed by the kindergarten staff that their witty and creative boy is actually a problem child.<\/p>\n The Bulgarian Everything Tastes Strange Today<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Kristina Spassovska<\/strong> introduces the audience to a 12-year-old girl who wants to be her older brother\u2019s darling<\/em> during an endless summer day in the privacy of their family garden.<\/p>\n The Swedish Container Scanning<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Edvin Hallberg and Anton Hellstr\u00f6m<\/strong> is a funny depiction of a world where conversations are held with no end and goal in sight, and the Polish A Dead Marriage<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Micha\u0142 Toczek<\/strong> is a story about an unusual meeting on the film set where Filip, an extra specialized in playing dead people, and Lucy, which plays a dead woman, meet.<\/p>\n The best film will be awarded The Golden Pram and a thousand Euros.
